This passing practice sees players working in pairs within their quadrant of the square. Players are encouraged to create good supporting angles and connect to progress the ball from one corner of the grid to the other.

Variation 1:

Two balls begin on opposite corners of the larger area. The ball is played into either player in the closest quadrant.

The player who receives the pass from the outside then finds a pass for his teammate. A longer pass is then played out of the quadrant to the next outside player in an anticlockwise direction.

Players remain in their quadrant as the pattern of playing to the closest quadrant continues. The player who receives the initial pass should be alternated.

Pairs in the middle should be rotated every 3 minutes with the outside players.

Variation 2:

The player who receives the initial pass from the outside looks to play a 1-2 combination with his teammate before playing the ball to the next outside player.

Variation 3:

The player who receives the initial pass continues to find his teammate (same as Pattern 1 & 2). The teammate however passes to a player in the next quadrant, who then bounces the ball to the player who initially received. The ball is then played to the next outside player.
