Instructions/Setup:

This technical warm-up focuses on developing players' ability to play one-touch passes while maintaining balance and body positioning. Players will execute one-touch passes before immediately moving and touching the cone placed horizontally to them. This drill enhances quick decision-making, technical precision, and movement off the ball.

Coaching Notes:

• One-Touch Passing – Emphasize the importance of making clean and precise one-touch passes. Encourage players to focus on the weight and accuracy of each pass, ensuring they complete the pass with minimal time spent on the ball.

• Balance and Body Positioning – Remind players to maintain proper body posture and balance when receiving and playing the ball. Players should keep their bodies low and stable to maintain control and execute efficient one-touch passes.

• Movement After Pass – Ensure players quickly move to the cone horizontally after each pass, focusing on sharp, purposeful movement. This will improve players' ability to read the game and react to passing options quickly.

• Timing and Rhythm – Encourage players to maintain a good rhythm with their passing and movement, focusing on timing their actions to ensure smooth transitions between passes and movements to the cone.

Progression 1: Add a Defender

Introduce a passive defender to apply pressure on the player receiving the ball, forcing them to make quicker decisions when playing the one-touch pass. This will increase the intensity and challenge players' ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Focus: Improve one-touch passing and balance while handling defensive pressure.

Progression 2: Increase the Distance

Increase the distance between the cones and players to challenge their passing accuracy over a longer range. This forces players to refine their passing technique and maintain control while moving at a higher intensity.

Focus: Develop the ability to make accurate one-touch passes over longer distances while maintaining balance and body control.
