Instructions/Setup:

This individual technical practice focuses on refining core skills: first touch, passing accuracy, and close control dribbling. The player works back and forth with the coach in a flowing sequence that includes receiving a pass, controlling it cleanly, returning the ball with accuracy, and performing short, sharp dribbling movements before repeating. The continuous nature of the drill allows for repetition, rhythm, and refinement under increasing intensity.


Coaching Notes:


• Crisp, Accurate Passing – Focus on clean contact and proper weight when returning passes to maintain a consistent tempo throughout the drill.


• Sharp First Touch – Encourage the player to take their first touch into space or prepare it for the next action efficiently, keeping it within immediate control.


• Tight Dribbling Control – Use small, frequent touches with both feet during dribbling phases, keeping the ball close under pressure simulation.


• Stay Light on Feet – Maintain an athletic, low stance throughout, allowing for quick adjustments between receiving, passing, and dribbling.
