Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 12 | Pitch size: 50x30
This dynamic practice involves two teams of three players attacking in opposite directions on two different pitches. Each team’s goal is to outscore the opposing team in a fast-paced, 3v2 situation. The drill starts with an odd number of balls placed along the central line, and teams must use these balls to create attacking opportunities.
As the game progresses, players are encouraged to balance speed and efficiency in their attacks—aiming to get as many attacks off as possible while also focusing on quality to maximize scoring chances. The drill concludes once all the balls have been played, promoting quick decision-making and teamwork under pressure.
• Quick Transitions: Emphasize the importance of transitioning quickly from defense to attack in order to capitalize on numerical advantages and create more scoring opportunities.
• Decision-Making: Players must make quick decisions on when to attack quickly versus when to slow down and organize, ensuring they take full advantage of the 3v2 overload.
• Communication: Encourage constant verbal and non-verbal communication between attackers to create space, set up plays, and ensure effective movement off the ball.
• Efficient Scoring: Players should focus on creating high-quality scoring chances through well-timed passes, runs, and positioning, making each attack count.
Limited Touches:
Players are restricted to two touches per player, forcing quicker decision-making and faster attacks.
Focus: Increases game tempo and forces players to focus on quick, precise passing and decision-making.
