Argentina Line Breaking Technical
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: 30x15
This is a technical passing practice with three different variations that allows players to develop their ability to make line-breaking passes. The practice focuses on the timing, accuracy, and creativity required to break through defensive lines with passing. The variations include different types of passes and runs, ensuring players are able to execute a range of passes to penetrate the opposition's defense effectively.
• Passing Technique – Encourage players to focus on the quality of their passes, making sure they are crisp, accurate, and well-weighted. Emphasize the importance of using both feet and the correct surface of the foot (instep, inside, outside) for different situations.
• Timing of Runs – Players should time their runs to receive line-breaking passes effectively. They must stay onside and make runs that force defenders to make a decision, whether to press or drop off.
• Vision & Awareness – Players need to develop awareness of where the space is and when to play the ball. They should constantly scan the field for potential passing lanes and be ready to deliver the ball at the right moment.
• Quick Transition – Focus on the transition from defense to attack. The player passing the ball should be quick and decisive in playing through the lines, while the receiving player should be prepared to take advantage of the space immediately.
Add Defenders
Introduce defenders in specific zones to force the attacking team to make quicker and more accurate line-breaking passes. The defenders can react to the passes and challenge for possession.
Focus: Increase pressure on the passer, ensuring quicker decision-making and improved passing accuracy under pressure.
Incorporate Movement After Passing
After making a line-breaking pass, players must immediately move into space to receive a return pass or support the next phase of play.
Focus: Improve players' ability to pass and move, ensuring they are always a viable option to receive the ball or support the attack.
