Practice Breakdown:

Number of Players: 10 | Pitch size: 40x36

  • This is a dynamic 3-phase attacking drill where two teams will play 3v3. The drill begins with one of the 3 balls in play, and the attacking team looks to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities until the ball goes dead, either through a goal, out of bounds, or a turnover. The ball is then switched, and the attacking team must immediately adapt to the next phase. This continues through three phases, with each phase lasting until the ball is dead.

After completing the third phase, the attacking players will switch out with another set of 3 attackers. The drill emphasizes maintaining attacking intensity, quick decision-making, and seamless transitions between phases. It challenges players to continuously think ahead, stay sharp, and work together to break down the defense while being ready for the next attacking opportunity.

  • • Quick Transitions: Encourage players to transition quickly between phases, maintaining high tempo and quick decision-making to create attacking opportunities.

    • Awareness of Space: Attackers should focus on creating space for themselves and teammates while looking for opportunities to exploit gaps in the defense.

    • Defensive Responsibility: Defenders s

  • Add Restriction on Passing:

Introduce a restriction where each player can only make a maximum of two passes before they must shoot or attempt to create a scoring opportunity.

Focus: This progression emphasizes quicker decision-making, faster ball movement, and encourages players to be more decisive in attack.

  • Add a Defender in Each Phase:

In each phase, add one additional defender to create a 3v4 or 3v5 scenario. The attackers must still attempt to score with the added defensive pressure.

Focus: This progression challenges the attackers to think more creatively and work together to break down a higher defensive line.
