Bucharest Finishing Into 1v1
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: 30x36
Play starts with two players from opposite teams running into a small-sided grid, each completing an unopposed finish on one of the two goals guarded by two goalkeepers. After both players have taken their unopposed shots, a new ball is introduced, triggering a live 1v1 battle in the same grid. This drill combines finishing practice with a quick transition to competitive defensive and attacking play.
The drill develops finishing under minimal pressure before immediately challenging players with a fast-paced, high-intensity 1v1 duel. It emphasizes composure in front of goal as well as sharp reaction and dribbling skills under pressure.
• Focus on clean, composed finishing technique in the unopposed phase – Players should prioritize accuracy and confident shot selection before pressure is applied.
• Encourage quick transition from finishing to immediate defensive or attacking mindset – Players must shift focus rapidly to adapt to the 1v1 challenge.
• Stress the importance of sharp first touches and controlled ball manipulation in the 1v1 – Effective ball control is key to gaining advantage in tight duels.
• Promote intense body positioning and timing in the 1v1 phase – Players should use proper stance and quick reactions to win duels and create scoring chances.
Limit the 1v1 phase to two touches maximum per player
Restrict touches to increase speed of play and technical precision, forcing quicker dribbling decisions and more efficient attacking movements.
Focus: Develops sharper control and faster decision-making during pressured offensive situations.
