Fortaleza Technical Into 1v1
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: 20x20
This technical dribbling and finishing practice is designed to develop ball control, dribbling under pressure, finishing accuracy, and transition into 1v1 attacking situations. Two players start each with a ball at opposite ends of a grid. Each player dribbles into the grid, navigating around a designated pole, before shooting at a mini goal—one on the left side and one on the right.
The player whose ball hits the net first immediately receives a second ball from the coach. Both players then engage in a 1v1, attempting to score against their respective goalkeepers. The drill continues with rotations, allowing all players to practice dribbling, finishing, and 1v1 attacking and defending.
• Dribbling Technique: Emphasise close control, quick changes of direction, and body positioning when navigating around the pole.
• Finishing: Encourage composure, accurate placement, and varied shooting techniques to challenge the goalkeeper.
• Reaction and Decision-Making: Coach players to react quickly after the first shot, transitioning immediately into the 1v1 scenario.
• 1v1 Awareness: Emphasise timing of runs, feints, and changes of pace to create space against the opponent.
• Goalkeeper Involvement: Reinforce positioning, shot-stopping, and anticipation during both the initial shot and subsequent 1v1.
Weaker Foot Dribble and Finish: Require players to dribble and shoot using their weaker foot.
Focus: Develops ambidexterity, technical confidence, and balance under pressure.
