Instructions/Setup:

This practice begins with a 4v4 in the center of the grid, with four additional bounce players positioned around the grid. These bounce players are restricted to 1-touch play, providing quick support for the attacking team. The team in possession can use the bounce players to create an 8v4 advantage when attacking, encouraging quick, fluid combinations and decision-making in tight spaces.

The aim is to develop fast attacking combinations and awareness of players around the ball. By using the bounce players, the team in possession can unlock space, create overloads, and quickly progress the ball forward. The defending team must focus on pressuring the ball and preventing easy access to the bounce players.

Coaching Notes:

• Quick Combinations: Players must focus on playing quick, sharp passes to keep the tempo high. The bounce players should be used effectively to create additional space, helping to stretch the opposition defense and open passing lanes.

• Awareness of Bounce Players: Players in possession need to constantly scan for the bounce players to exploit the overload when attacking. Bounce players should be ready to receive the ball and make an immediate impact with 1-touch play.

• Pressure on the Ball: Defenders need to focus on applying constant pressure to the player with the ball, forcing them into difficult decisions and limiting their options. The defensive team should also be aware of the bounce players and position themselves accordingly to deny easy passes.

• Switching Play Quickly: When the team loses possession, they must transition quickly to defense and prevent the attacking team from exploiting the bounce players. The defending team must be quick to organize and counter the overload.

Progression 1: Restrict the Bounce Player's Movement:

Limit the bounce players' movement to certain zones on the pitch (e.g., they can only stay in the middle third). This forces the team in possession to be more creative with how they use the bounce players and ensures that attacking play is more deliberate and focused.

Focus: Develops creativity and tactical awareness, requiring the team to work together and find space in more specific areas of the field.
