Lima 4+2 Build & Finish
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 9 | Pitch size: 20x40
In this build and finish practice, play starts with a 2v2 in the first zone, where the attackers look to retain possession and find one of two central players to progress play forward. Once a central player receives, they move into the second zone and combine with two additional attackers to create a 3v2 attacking scenario, attempting to score into two mini goals. The practice focuses on effective build-up play, forward progression and decision-making in attacking overloads.
• Passing Quality & Weight:
Emphasise accurate, well-weighted forward passes that allow teammates to play on the move and maintain attacking rhythm.
• Receiving Under Pressure:
Encourage players to receive on the back foot, protect the ball and play forward whenever possible.
• Movement to Create Passing Lines:
Coach constant off-the-ball movement to create angles, support the ball and disrupt defensive structure.
• Speed of Decision Making:
Promote quick recognition of space, overloads and finishing opportunities in the attacking zone.
Minimum Passes in Build-Up Zone:
Require the attacking pair to complete a set number of passes before finding a central player to progress.
Focus:
Encourages patience in possession, improved circulation and better timing of forward passes.
Add Defensive Recovery Runner:
Allow one defender from the first zone to recover into the second zone after progression.
Focus:
Increases realism, challenges attackers to play quicker and improves decision-making under pressure.
