This technical passing practice focuses on developing core passing fundamentals at a high tempo. Players work on receiving, passing and moving continuously, following their pass each time to rotate through different positions and angles. The emphasis is on first-touch quality, body shape, awareness and pass execution, ensuring players are consistently preparing themselves to play forward and maintain rhythm throughout the practice.
• First Touch Quality:
Encourage players to take a positive first touch into space, setting up the next action efficiently and smoothly.
• Open Body Shape:
Reinforce receiving side-on where possible to see multiple options and play forward with minimal adjustment.
• Weight and Accuracy of Pass:
Focus on well-weighted passes played with purpose, ensuring the receiver can maintain tempo without breaking stride.
• Movement After the Pass:
Coach players to follow their pass with intent, moving quickly to support, rotate positions and maintain flow.
Weaker Foot Emphasis:
