Lisbon Double Finish Inside The Box
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 7 | Pitch size: 1/3 Pitch
This drill develops attacking combinations and finishing by splitting the action into two key phases. First, the player works with a teammate outside the box to complete a combination play, receiving a through ball and finishing with a controlled shot. After scoring, the player quickly recovers by running back outside the box, performing a sharp turn around a mannequin, and then sprinting back into the penalty area for a second unopposed finish.
The continuous flow of movement, combination play, and finishing sharpens both technical skills and fitness in an attacking context.
• Encourage Precise Combination Play Outside the Box – The initial pass and movement should be crisp to create clear scoring chances.
• Stress Timing and Accuracy of the Through Ball – Ensure the through ball splits the defense effectively for a clean first-time finish.
• Focus on Quick Recovery and Sharp Movement Around the Mannequin – The turn and sprint must be explosive to maintain intensity and readiness for the second finish.
• Promote Composure and Clinical Finishing in Both Phases – Even without pressure, focus on confident, well-placed shots to maximize scoring efficiency.
Increase speed of combination and recovery runs
Push players to perform the passing sequence and recovery runs at a higher tempo to simulate game pace and improve endurance.
Focus:
Enhances sharpness, reaction time, and ability to sustain high-intensity finishing during match scenarios.
Add a passive defender on the initial combination phase
Introduce light defensive pressure during the combination outside the box to challenge decision-making and precision under mild pressure.
Focus:
Develops composure, quick thinking, and technical accuracy when faced with defensive disruption during build-up play.
