Liverpool Passing Warm Up
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: X
In this passing warm-up, two players positioned horizontally to each other will run 30 yards, passing the ball side to side through a series of vertically positioned mannequins. The players should focus on precise, short passes as they work around the mannequins. Once they reach the top of the grid, they'll jog back down and repeat the drill.
• Accurate Passing: Emphasize the importance of crisp, accurate passes between the players. The ball should be passed with enough weight to ensure it reaches the intended player, but not too much that it becomes difficult to control.
• Body Position: Players should maintain good body position when receiving the ball, staying on their toes and ready to receive and quickly pass. This will help improve the flow of the exercise and encourage fluid movement.
• Head Up and Scanning: Encourage players to keep their heads up and scan for the next pass. This helps with better decision-making and awareness of teammates' movements.
• Communication: Encourage vocal communication between players to help them stay organized and ensure smooth transitions throughout the drill.
Add 1-Touch Passing:
Introduce a one-touch passing restriction once players reach the top. This increases the tempo of the drill, helping players develop quick decision-making and ball control under pressure.
Focus: Enhances the ability to pass quickly and accurately, encouraging quicker reactions and improving the flow of passing sequences.
Add Movement After Passing:
Players must make a forward run or move laterally after completing a pass. This progression focuses on encouraging dynamic movement off the ball and helps replicate the need for players to move into space in real-game scenarios.
Focus: Promotes off-the-ball movement, improving players' ability to create space and offer passing options.
