Practice Breakdown:

Number of Players: 3 | Pitch size: 15x15

  • In this drill, 3 players will move clockwise and anticlockwise around 3 poles positioned in a triangle shape. Around the players, roughly 10 meters away, will be 4 mini-goals, one located on each line of the square grid. Each mini-goal will be identified by a color, which can be marked using cones.

The coach will direct the players to rotate clockwise or anticlockwise. At any moment, the coach will shout out a color corresponding to one of the mini-goals. The 3 players must react quickly and attempt to pass the ball into the mini-goal that matches the color called out. A point is awarded to the player who successfully passes the ball into the correct mini-goal.

  • • Speed of Reaction: Players must react quickly to the coach’s color call, transitioning immediately from their rotation around the poles to focus on the correct mini-goal.

    • Passing Accuracy: Emphasize the importance of a precise and well-weighted pass into the mini-goal. Players should aim for accuracy, not just speed, to ensure the ball reaches the target.

    • Body Position and Awareness: Players should maintain awareness of their surroundings, ensuring they position themselves correctly to make a clean pass toward the mini-goals when the color is called. Proper body orientation will improve reaction time and pass quality.

  • Increase Rotation Speed:

Increase the speed of the rotations around the poles to add a higher intensity. The coach can also randomly change the direction of the rotations, requiring players to adjust even quicker when the color is called.

Focus: Enhances players’ agility, fitness, and reaction speed while maintaining the accuracy and control needed to pass into the correct mini-goal.
