Milan 1v1 Recovery
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: 40x36
Play begins with a pass into the attacker, who must attempt to score in a 1v1 scenario while being chased and pressured by a recovering defender. The attacker must use clever movement, speed, and sharp decision-making to get a shot off before the defender can recover and challenge.
Once the initial phase is complete, the coach immediately serves a second ball to the defender. The defender now becomes the attacker and must quickly transition to score into one of the two mini goals, while the original attacker must react and transition into a defensive role to stop the counter.
• Attack Under Pressure: Encourage attackers to stay composed when under pressure and to use body positioning and quick decision-making to get a shot away effectively.
• Recovery Speed: Defenders must sprint back with intent, aiming to close the distance and apply pressure as quickly as possible to delay or block the shot.
• Transition Mentality: Both players must show intensity and awareness in transitioning roles—attacker to defender and defender to attacker—reacting immediately to the coach’s second ball.
• Controlled Finishing: In both phases, emphasize quality finishing. Players should stay composed and look to pick out corners, even under fatigue or pressure.
Add Time Limit for Each Phase:
Set a 5-second limit for the attacker to score and a 5-second window for the counter-attack. This increases intensity and simulates game-like pressure.
Focus: Promotes urgency, decision-making under pressure, and effective execution in time-sensitive situations.
Add a Neutral Bounce Player:
Introduce a neutral bounce player near the middle who can be used in the second phase to link play before finishing.
Focus: Encourages combination play and awareness of supporting options during attacking transitions.
