Roma Turn Into 1v1

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: X
Play starts with two passes played into central players who are positioned next to a central mannequin. These central players must quickly receive, turn sharply, and drive toward goal with the objective of scoring into a mini goal from close range.
Immediately after making the initial pass, the two outside players must sprint onto the pitch and apply pressure, turning the drill into a live 1v1 scenario. This transition creates a dynamic moment where attackers must be decisive, and defenders must recover and engage quickly.
• Sharp Turns on the Move: Emphasize quick and controlled turns upon receiving the ball, using the body and first touch to escape the mannequin and face forward with immediate intent.
• Acceleration After Turn: Attackers should explode into space immediately after the turn to gain separation before the defender can recover and block the shooting lane.
• Defensive Recovery Speed: Focus on fast reactions from the defenders. They should sprint onto the pitch and apply pressure while remaining balanced and not diving in too early.
• Finishing Under Pressure: Attackers must stay composed when shooting, timing their shot while under pressure from the recovering defender closing the angle.
Add a Second Mini Goal:
Place an additional mini goal on the opposite side. After turning, the attacker must decide which goal to attack based on the defender’s position.
Focus: Encourages decision-making and scanning, as the attacker must read the defender's recovery run and choose the better shooting option.
