Rotterdam 1v2 & 2v2s With Recovery
ADDED TO FAVOURITES

Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 10 | Pitch size: 30x36
In the 1v2 phase, play starts with a dribble up the field and a pass into the attacker. The attacker then attempts to attack at speed in a 1v1 scenario before the recovering defender gets back into position, turning it into a 1v2. In the 2v2 phase, the setup is the same, but the attacker will initially have a momentary 2v1 advantage. The attacker must then exploit this overload, attacking at speed and trying to take advantage of the attacking overload before the defender recovers.
• Attacking Speed – Attackers should focus on moving at speed as soon as they receive the ball, making it difficult for defenders to recover. They should take on defenders directly, using quick touches to break past them.
• Decision-Making in 1v2 – In the 1v2 phase, attackers need to make quick decisions about whether to dribble or pass. They should assess the positioning of both defenders and choose the best option to beat the 1v2 scenario.
• Exploiting the Overload in 2v2 – In the 2v2 phase, attackers should recognize the overload and use it to their advantage. They should look to create space through quick passes, off-the-ball movement, or by isolating one defender to beat with pace.
• Defender Recovery – Defenders should focus on recovering quickly into the play. In both phases, defenders should use their positioning to force the attacker into less dangerous areas and be aware of the overload situation to minimize gaps.
Add a Third Defender in 2v2
Introduce a third defender after a set number of repetitions, increasing the difficulty of the 2v2 phase and forcing attackers to think more creatively.
Focus: Forces attackers to make quicker decisions and adapt to an increasing level of pressure.
Limit the Time for the Attackers
Set a time limit within which the attackers must score, adding pressure to finish quickly.
Focus: Enhances the speed of play and encourages quick decision-making and finishing under pressure.
