Practice Breakdown:
Number of Players: 10 | Pitch size: 30x30
This technical passing practice focuses on ball circulation, receiving and movement under continuous tempo. Two balls are used simultaneously, with players cycling around different positions or passing patterns—one team moving clockwise and the other counterclockwise. The practice emphasizes awareness, scanning, body positioning and accurate passing. Each sequence ends with a pass into a mini goal, encouraging players to execute passes with the correct weight and timing while maintaining control and composure.
• Passing Accuracy: Emphasise crisp, well-weighted passes with correct timing, body shape and follow-through to maintain tempo.
• First Touch Quality: Encourage players to control the ball efficiently on the first touch to prepare for the next pass.
• Scanning and Awareness: Reinforce constant scanning of teammates, opponents and space to make informed passing decisions.
• Movement Off the Ball: Coach players to anticipate the next pass, create angles and maintain rhythm while cycling through positions.
Two-Touch Passing Only:
Require players to control and pass each ball within two touches, increasing tempo, technical demand and cognitive focus.
Focus: Improves first-touch quality, accuracy and decision-making under pressure while keeping the practice realistic and fast-paced.
Add Mini-Goal Scoring Points:
Assign points for successfully completing a pass into the mini goal or hitting a target after each cycle.
Focus: Encourages precision under pressure, reinforces attention to detail and motivates players to maintain consistent tempo and control.
