Practice Breakdown:

Number of Players: 6 | Pitch size: 15x25

  • Play begins with 2 players positioned centrally who each receive a precise pass from a teammate. After controlling the ball, they turn quickly and sprint toward opposite ends of the grid to score in their respective mini goals. This first phase emphasizes quick ball control, sharp turns, and accurate finishing under light pressure, helping develop spatial awareness and quick decision-making in tight spaces.

Once both players have completed their initial finishes, a second ball is played into the grid to start a highly competitive 1v1 duel between them. This phase focuses on attacking and defending skills in a realistic scenario, challenging players to use dribbling, positioning, and finishing techniques under intense pressure from their opponent.

  • • Stress quick, controlled first touches to enable rapid turning and acceleration – This helps players create space and maintain attacking momentum effectively, even under intense game pressure and tight marking.

    • Encourage players to use feints and body positioning in 1v1s – To deceive defenders, create clear shooting opportunities, and gain an advantage by manipulating defensive reactions.

    • Remind defenders to maintain low, balanced stances and stay patient before committing – This allows better reaction to attacker’s moves, reduces chances of being beaten, and improves defensive timing significantly.

    • Emphasize composure and accuracy when finishing in tight spaces – Players should focus on precision to consistently score under pressure, considering both placement and power of their shots.

  • Add a Time Limit for First Phase

Introduce a strict time limit for players to receive and finish in the first phase, encouraging faster decision-making and sharp execution.

Focus: Develops speed of play, urgency, and mental sharpness under match-like conditions.
