This drill develops players’ ability to switch the ball quickly and accurately from one side of the penalty area to the other, encouraging good ball circulation and creating space in wide areas. Players work on maintaining possession with crisp passing, focusing on moving the ball from side to side outside the box to manipulate defensive shape and open passing lanes.
The final pass is a penetrative through ball played into a winger on the opposite side, who immediately delivers a first-time cut-back cross into the half space. Attackers time their runs to exploit this space and receive the cut-back for an unopposed finish inside the box.
