Practice Breakdown:

Number of Players: 4 | Pitch size: 20x20

  • Each team has 4 balls per round, with both players having 2 balls each. The teams must attempt to score with as many of the 4 balls as possible by using turns, skills, and fast dribbles to create space. The 2 defending players must attempt to match the runs and movements of the dribbling players and protect their mini goals. Once Team A has used all 4 balls, the teams will rotate, and Team B will attempt to score as the attacking team.

  • • Skill Application – Emphasize the use of quick turns, feints, and dribbling skills to break past defenders and create space. Players should be encouraged to get creative with their ball control and take on defenders when possible.

    • Defensive Positioning – Defenders should focus on staying compact and positioning themselves to force attackers wide or into less dangerous areas. They must avoid ball-watching and track the attackers' movements closely.

    • Decision-Making – Attackers need to be decisive with their dribbles, deciding quickly when to use a skill move or make a pass. Encourage players to keep their heads up and scan for space or opportunities to exploit.

    • Teamwork – Both attacking and defending teams should work closely together. Attackers should communicate and set up passing lanes, while defenders should communicate to prevent attackers from creating clear goal-scoring chances.

  • Additional Defenders

Introduce a third defender to increase the difficulty for the attacking team. The attackers will now have to work together even more efficiently to create space and avoid being crowded out.

Focus: Improving teamwork and individual skill under pressure.

  • Limited Time

Introduce a time limit for each attacking phase (e.g., 30 seconds per round). The attacking team must score as many goals as possible within this time, encouraging fast-paced decision-making and execution.

Focus: Enhancing the speed of attack and decision-making under time pressure.
